Yep, this speaker sells for 2800GBP, almost R85k in our money.

What can I say about this speaker? That its possibly the best bookshelf speaker you can buy? Yes, I feel it is. Its certainly better than a Sonus Faber Extrema, B&W 805D3, Any Kef bookshelf I heard, including the Reference 1. Don’t believe me ? Just listen for yourself….I don’t need to convince the listener for once….

The Zingali Zero Evo Bookshelf is a sensation. Everybody who hears it can’t believe so significant and full a sound is coming from so modest a speaker.

The reason for such disbelief is obvious: we’ve all heard bookshelf speakers which try to push too much bass from a small enclosure, and we all know the sound suffers. So we’ve all come to accept that the best bookshelf speakers are the ones which don’t try to do too much… i.e. they play to the natural strengths of super imaging, great vocals (on account of the single driver?) and exceptional mid-range. If the bass is a little light, we tell ourselves, “better that than a big, boomy one-note ported bass sound.”.

And then along comes this Zingali Zero Evo Bookshelf. Like so many Zingali designs, it rewrites the rules. It sounds like a floorstander, yet it has that lovely tight focus which seems to be the exclusive domain of bookshelf speakers. The bass goes low, deep and undistorted. The mid-range and treble as clear and smooth as you could imagine. One can only assume the patented Omniray horn is playing a significant part in this audio paradox. Sealing the deal, as with all Zingali speakers, the tonality is spot on. Not even the merest hint of that nasal small box sound.
