Although many people (for good reason) think “Technics” when they think of superb Japanese direct drive turntables, there are also quite a few other top-end vintage direct drive record players that came out of Japan, like some Marantz, Micro Seiki and this Yamaha turntable. I even suspect / would not be surprised if the latter-mentioned tables came out of the same factory!

Be that as it may, this beautiful Yamaha is dressed in wood and silver, and has a huge direct drive motor. The platter weighs “a ton” and the arm is a functional piece of art. The lid and hinges are fully functional and in excellent condition for this lady’s age.

Yasmin has been cleaned up and serviced, adjusted and extensively tested, and she works perfectly, looks beautiful and sounds superb – I am happy to play my best vinyl LP records on this deck!
